Greetings All,

Just a short missive here while I'm tuning into this conversation:

I'm all for some kind of code of conduct, especially one that could be
shared around organizations that feel that they need one. It was great
that Transmediale was able to respond to incidents happening in and
around the media art scene. That small act encouraged me to make use
of it (yes, when I've had some private concerns about people attending
the event) and certainly made me more comfortable attending the event.
I knew they had my back if something happened.

On the other hand, actions speak louder than words. I don't know what
people /organizations do on a daily basis that would demonstrate (or
not) being able to support Black Lives Matter. I've been totally
impressed with how responsive the Latitude on Air team has been (and
even with the Goethe Institute) and how much we have worked to bring
in a lot of voices speaking directly to the things unfolding around
the world. Ok, that is a kind of result of resources and political
will.

What kind of concerns me is people taking a vocal stand rather than
taking action. A vocal stand can also be an act, but... if that vocal
act is where things end.
Maybe better just donate to a worthy cause :)

I'm sure we'll have a huge list of organizations and initiatives that
could use your support by the end of this program!
