[resource-net] Opening up your events/venues during/after COVID-19?

Dear Rachel,

thanks for bringing this up! I am currently writing an article about independent, hybrid spaces and how they deal with the pandemic & this made me think a lot about how to proceed with gatherings at Supermarkt.
We have for now migrated our program to online platforms and we will certainly not start hosting events before September.
And thinking about re-opening: I am still uncertain about the number of people in the space and how to handle safety & sanitary requirements properly. My main concern has to do with the air quality of the space. It’s not so easy to ventilate our space efficiently, especially in the cold season. I am up for some collective thinking, as you propose, around safety measures for event organizers and communities. Also, it’s not just the technicalities of providing safety, it’s also the question of figuring out what people need and what they hope to find when coming back to the spaces that have been abandoned for quite a while now.

If I were to host any real life-gatherings over the summer, I would probably think of open air-alternatives, mixed with webinars/ calls. This somehow seems to be the healthiest option, at least from my gut feelings perspective.
Let me know if you want to dig deeper into the topic. I have many open questions myself.

All best,
Ela
