INSTANT CUT::JD Zazie
* sound installation * performance * experimental turntablism *
INSTANT CUT is a text collage on experimental turntablism published by online journal eContact! 16.4 – Experimental Practices and Subversion in Sound in 2015. Now, it becomes a sound composition and a sound installation through a process of deconstruction and reconstruction where the original text is embodied by voices and mechanical sounds.

Coming from a DJ and a radiophonic background JD Zazie has explored over the years different approaches of real-time manipulation on fixed recorded sound. In her work she redefines DJ and electroacoustic activities. As a solo performer, in small groups or large ensembles she moves in an area which is constantly stretching the borders of what is supposed to be DJ mixing, free improvisation and composed music. Juxtaposition, decontextualization, fragmentation, repetition, sonic texture, scratch and error are elements of the grammar adopted to relate, organize and rearrange the sound material.
She is art director of “MuseRuole – women in experimental music” festival”, is a member of the Burp Enterprise collective and broadcasts monthly on Colaboradio and Reboot.fm.

Liebig12´s artists in residency NOI ANSAMBLE are showing their new Project "Totale Installation" at Project Space Gallery M in Marzahn
***following all infos!***Dont miss it!
In the exhibition "Total Installation" we are dealing with a form of presentation of art in museums and galleries, which tries to find an intermedial form, a fusion of the arts into a “Total work of art”.
Installations in the fine arts are usually space-, place-and situation-related three-dimensional works of art. This genre of art attempts to simultaneously activate the eyes, ears, touch and sense of space in order to present a comprehensive, intermedial “Total work of art” to the audience. This kind of art presentation was already developed in the late Renaissance in so-called Wunderkammern/ Wonder-rooms / Cabinet of curiosities. In these “Cabinet of curiosities”, objects of various origins were staged in a representative manner. During the course of the 19th century these “Cabinet of curiosities” were replaced by today's museums and galleries and partly absorbed in them. In the nineteen-seventies, the term "installation" was developed for extensive, three-dimensional artworks. In particular, through the theoretical and practical work of Ilja Kabakov, the concept of "total installation" became a central concept approach in modern art.
In our next group exhibition we will show five room installations. For the coordination and guidance of the five groups, the NKI invites five artists who are familiar with the implementation of such art projects through previous work.
Participants: Monika Jarecka, Namesi, Velislava Gecheva, Seulki Ki, Jimok Choi, Elena Kaludova and Marc Pospiech among others.
Organized by the Neue Kunstinitiative Marzahn-Hellersdorf (NKI) in cooperation with Bezirksamt Marzahn-Hellersdorf and sponsored by Bezirkskulturfonds.
