[resource-net] Nov2: transmediale Vorspiel meeting

Dear resource-list subscribers,

On January 20th 2018, transmediale and CTM once again plan to kick off 
the Vorspiel programme, opening with a common event at ACUD and 
continuing with network events throughout the city until the end of the 
festivals on February 4.
For those of you subscribers that have taken part in the past 
transmediale and CTM festivals Vorspiel programmes or are interested in 
taking part in the future, there will be a feedback and info-meeting on 
Thursday next week, Nov 2 at 17.30 in the Podewil (Klosterstr. 68).
Looking forward to see many of you there!

On the agenda of the meeting will be:
- Feedback Vorspiel 2017
- short presentation of transmediale 2018 face value / CTM Turmoil themes
- Timeline Vorspiel 2018 (call deadline, program deadline)
- Communication Vorspiel 2018 (including website)
- Schedule coordination
- Vorspiel opening event Jan 20 at ACUD incl. possible panel debate and 
affiliation with Art Action Day

The general open call for Vorspiel 2018 also goes out now and I have 
pasted it below. You can of course also simply respond to the call if 
you can't come to the meeting.

Dear past Vorspiel participants,

In early 2018, transmediale and CTM festival would  again like to 
cooperate with the Berlin network of project spaces, galleries, 
independent cultural actors as well as cultural institutions in the 
fields of digital art & culture and experimental sound & music. With the 
goal of creating and presenting a distributed program of events by the 
various initiatives that are working in these fields, we hereby invite 
you to respond to our Call for Participation for the Vorspiel 2018.

Planning Meeting on 2 November 2017
transmediale and CTM are inviting you to a first network and 
coordination meeting, taking place at 17:30 on 2 November,
at
Podewil
Konferenzraum 02 (Foyer of Podewil, left side)
Klosterstraße 68
10179 Berlin

In this meeting, the team of transmediale and CTM will outline this 
year’s festival themes, as well as the general Vorspiel 2018 timeline 
and organisation. Participation in this meeting is not mandatory in 
order to register for Vorspiel.

Concept of Vorspiel 2018
With Vorspiel 2018, transmediale and CTM want to continue the tradition 
of creating and strengthening the network and scene of cultural actors 
and institutions, which has been established over the last years. 
Vorspiel is part of transmediale’s resource for transmedial culture 
berlin program and its efforts to strengthen the network of cultural 
managers, institutions and project spaces in the city of Berlin and 
around it. The network aims to connect different genres and practices 
for creating opportunities of common exchange and reflection and for 
bringing together communities and individuals which are dealing with 
art, technology, politics and identity in a critical way.

Call for Proposals
The Vorspiel 2018 Call for Proposals is addressed to independent project 
spaces, platforms, curators and artists in Berlin. In occasion of the 
upcoming edition of transmediale and CTM, the idea is to create a 
program (with exhibitions, performances, concerts, presentations and 
other formats) that is distributed in the city of Berlin and its various 
and diverse project spaces, galleries and institutions that are dealing 
with digital art & culture and experimental sounds & music. It is meant 
to be a program for the city of Berlin, presenting the variety and 
different approaches of the different cultural actors in a concentrated 
and energetic format, while also seeking to strengthen the dialogue with 
the two festivals. To create this link, the Vorspiel program will take 
place before both festivals and go on for 2 weeks. It will start with a 
common opening event on 20 January 2018 at ACUD MACHT NEU organized by 
transmediale and CTM for and with all participating venues.

The costs for production and organization of the distributed events will 
have to be covered by their spaces and organizers, while transmediale 
and CTM will organize the communication and promotion of the program. 
This includes the creation of a separate Vorspiel 2018 website, press 
releases and social media.
