Monday 2 Oct: Berlin Modular Presents: A night with Todd Barton

*Berlin Modular* is proud to welcome:

*Todd Barton* is a composer, sound designer, multimedia performer, and
analog synthesist specializing in Buchla, Serge and Hordijk modular
systems. After four decades of exploration Barton is still delving deeply
into the ever-expanding frontiers of musical expression: from his DNA
derived Genome Music to his innovative scores for plays at the Oregon
Shakespeare Festival; from performances of Zen shakuhachi meditation music
to avant-garde music for electronic synthesizers and computers; from
performing with luminaries of jazz and poetry to lecturing on music and
composition from the Middle Ages to the 21st Century. He gives Skype
lessons and consultations in analog synthesis worldwide and is currently a
trainer for MacProVideo.com.

Tuesday 3 Oct: Community night: VJ open lab #3
*A live space for visual minds and bodies*

Start time: 19:30 - free entrance

*VJ Open Lab *offers the Berlin VJ Community a monthly meeting for
inspiration, experimentation, and exchanging of ideas and knowledge in the
live video field. Initiated by the VJ Women workshop group formed in
Spektrum in spring 2017, VJ Open Lab is a collaborative platform without
hierarchy that values joint efforts, partnership, and initiative. VJ Open
Lab is open to anyone interested in live visual arts and Vjing. Beginners
and visitors are also welcome to join.

meditation. It is chaotic but meditate at the same time. So this is the
Chaos Meditation that is exactly how human life looks like.

Based in France since 2012. Dancer of Carolyn Carlson, David Zambrano and
Francesco Scavetta. Present the solo work and give the workshops in the

Giorgio Dursi is an Italian artist based in Berlin. For the past few years
he's been experimenting with the interaction of nonverbal vocal
expressions, sound and music composition. The solo performance includes

Electro acoustic compositions für marxophone, guitar, clarinet and
electronics

*C-drík *is an electronic, electro-acoustic artist and lecturer from
Belgium and the DR Congo and active in the noise and industrial scenes
since 1989. He studied at the Royal Conservatory of Mons, Belgium and is
behind Syrphe, a platform mostly dedicated to exploring electronic,
experimental and noise from Asia and Africa. After writing several essay
about Asian and African electronic and experimental music, together with
Sociologist and musician Dimitri della Faille he published in 2016 a book
called Not Your World Music: Noise In South East Asia.
