Tue 2 May: Artificial Creativity meetup 17x01

*Community meetup / start time: 19:30*

Join us for an evening of informal conversations and presentations on the
intersection of creativity and artificial intelligence. We are interested
in the use of AI techniques (neural networks, genetic algorithms, Markov
chains, natural language systems, etc.) applied in a creative way, be it
musical compositions
Super Mario levels
or anything else, and in tools for assisting human creativity.

There will be time for anyone to *share and discuss a project* they have
made. No prior knowledge about AI is required to participate; just a sense
of curiosity about the future of machine-made art and its philosophical and
cultural implications!

Creations project, the winner´s results from the Creative Output phase are
presented and exhibited.
A professional film crew, directed by film-maker Ekaterina Eremenko (Colors
of Math
, The Discrete Charm of Geometry
record the event. A feature film will be produced to be screened
internationally, starring all winners and their Math Creations.

The contest is organized by collaborative research centers “Discretization
in Geometry and Dynamics” and “Space - Time - Matter. Analytic and
Geometric Structures” in collaboration with IMAGINARY gGmbH. Please find
more information about the Math Creations project in German:

Sunday 7 May: Light Movement 21: Joseph Bernard
Doors: 19:30 / Start time: 20:00
*Entrance 6-10 euro (up to your offer) *

This month it is a huge pleasure to present the films of visual artist
Joseph Bernard. From the mid 70s to the mid 80s, Bernard made over 100
super-8 films, all fairly short, all but one silent, and with a visual
immediacy that extends the possibilities of the collage film with both the
warmth and intimacy of the personal, and an insistence on the frame as a
formal carrier of rhythm and colour.

We are extremely lucky to have the opportunity to present this selection of
films from "one of avant guard cinemas overlooked masters." The program,
curated by Bernard himself, half of which is being shown publicly for the
first time, will be a sensitive visual treat, and a journey into one
filmmakers very personal, celebratory yet humble language. (all films are
Super-8, but screened digitally)
