Monday 17 July: Cryptoparty

*CryptoParty*
Doors: 19:00 / Start time: 19:30 - *free entrance*

Learn and teach how to use basic cryptography tools in a relaxed and
respectful atmosphere. No prior knowledge required: curiosity, wanting to
learn, asking questions is all that's needed. Bringing your laptop or
smartphone would be useful.

aim to provide a time and place for self directed and collaborative
learning + experimentation. If you would like to free yourself from the
limitations that come with traditional music software, this is for you! We
occasionaly do jam sessions and plan group performances.
Wed 19 July: The Society for Nontrivial Pursuits #331

Doors: 19:30 / Start time: 20:00
*Entrance: 5-10 euro (up to your offer)*

*An evening with THE SOCIETY FOR NONTRIVIAL PURSUITS*
Complex behaviors, whether in feedback systems, chaotic circuits, social
systems and/or computer programs are fascinating objects of study. The
Society for Nontrivial Pursuits (students, alumni and associates of the
class Generative Art / Computational Art at UdK Berlin) explores the
possibility spaces of such systems for experimental performance. They
design, build and program their own audio/visual performance systems based
on a variety of devices, sensors, analog electronics, and software
synthesis, and use them in extremely diverse projects, often intended for
performance contexts.

*Participating artists: *Astrid Kraniger, Federico Foderaro, Kathrin Hunze
& Mengxuan Sun & Hannah Greifenstein & Dan Dansen, Isak Han, Klara
Andersson, Anna Petzer, Nicolas Lefort, Haye Heerten.

Friday 21 July: XEN presents American Spectral History #333

Doors: 19:30 / Start time: 20:30
*Entrance: 5-10 € (up to your offer) / Limited seats*
- program curated by Pedro Marum and Rita Macedo

Divided into two sessions, on the 16th and 21st of July, *XenoEntities
Network (XEN)* has the pleasure to present the work of *Nadia Granados
(Colombia/Mexico) and Amber Bemak (United States)*. Their work explores how
geopolitical mechanisms of power, such as imperialism and globalization,
mediate relationships and intimacy, bodies and sexual encounters, through
their own relationship as two female lovers. Using video and performance,
Amber and Nadia denounce the topographies of violence drawn by national and
bureaucratic borders, exposing how these spatial operations are testified
by their gendered and sexualized bodies.

*AMERICAN SPECTRAL HISTORY* is a queer multimedia performance about
terrorism and xenophobia, relationships between the United States and Latin
America, and resistance to large-scale patriarchal power. The show
specifically investigates the connections between South and North America
through multiple manifestations of embodied love and violence. Using light,
scissors, and cloth, the artists conjure up murdered women, using a video
exchange they look to their presidents for answers, and turn to each other
to investigate their own multiple objectifications- as women lesbian
self-identified monsters. They choose to mutate in order to avoid
categorization, asking the audience to mutate with them as they embody a
variance of formations.

Saturday 22 July: Derek Holzer / Lars Ennsen #334
Doors: 20:00 / Start time: 20:30
*Entrance 6-10 euro (up to your offer)*

*Sound art performance by Lars Ennsen*
The sounds of Berlin-based sound artist Lars Ennsen are a forest of
ambiguities. On a given occasion, he approaches a condition of movement and
development which may be too slow and too subtle to consciously experience.
On another given occasion, the seemingly random organic processes and
relations which result in that condition are being explored. On a third
given occasion it may be quite hard to tell the difference. It is an inward
gaze, a state of being, and a largely improvised performance which may be
classified in terms of minimal, ambient, and drone, sometimes leaning
towards the noisier side of things.

*Derek Holzer - Vector Synthesis*
Vector Synthesis is an audiovisual, computational art project using sound
synthesis and vector graphics display techniques to investigate the direct
relationship between sound+image. Driven by sonic waveforms, the vertical
and horizontal movements of a single beam of light trace shapes, points and
curves with infinite resolution, opening a hypnotic window into the process
by which the performed sound is created.

Sunday 23 July: Light Movement 23: OPEN DOORS curated by Ute Aurand & Peter
Todd
Doors: 19:30 / Start time: 20:00
*Entrance 6-10 euro (up to your offer)*

Every year or two *Ute Aurand* and *Peter Todd* meet up to continue a
filmic conversation. *OPEN DOORS* is their third program curated together.
A film by the Scottish filmmaker Margaret Tait is often shown as a
reference to how Aurand and Todd's joint interest in her work fIrst brought
them together. In OPEN DOORS they have selected films in which the
filmmakers' observations and feelings become visible beyond obvious
narratives.

*SPEKTRUM* is a project space in Neukölln for idealisation, realisation and
exhibition of technology-based artworks, media-focused events and
futuristic utopias based on the principle "do-it-together-with-others". Above
all, we are an open space promoting participatory processes to co-define
and co-design a social and physical playground for curiosity and critical
understanding.
