Italian composer Valerio Tricoli (http://facebook.us11.list-manage1.com/track/click?u=965bfdc5483b693a98a919fdf&id=e8d8849220&e=b127b6a5ed) privileges fracture over continuity. Aligned to the tradition of Musique Concrète his compositions are perturbing, compelling and eventually mind-expanding works, marked by strategies of exploded narratives, psychological insight and oracular literary references. His main instrument for live presentations is the Revox B77 reel-to-reel tape recorder, used as a completely analogue device for live sampling and real-time transformation of pre-recorded material. His most recent record Clonic Earth (PAN) (http://facebook.us11.list-manage.com/track/click?u=965bfdc5483b693a98a919fdf&id=9541a43832&e=b127b6a5ed) is an exploration of his allegorical and philosophical universe sometimes reminiscent, in the complexity of details and surrealistic effects, of Hieronymus Bosch’s larger paintings.

Beatrice Dillon (http://facebook.us11.list-manage.com/track/click?u=965bfdc5483b693a98a919fdf&id=4210b9f67c&e=b127b6a5ed) creates music that resists easy categorisation. A restless and eclectic producer with releases on Where To Now? (http://facebook.us11.list-manage.com/track/click?u=965bfdc5483b693a98a919fdf&id=70355d58ab&e=b127b6a5ed) (nominated in FACT, The Quietus’ Best of 2015) and acclaimed mixes for The Trilogy Tapes (http://facebook.us11.list-manage1.com/track/click?u=965bfdc5483b693a98a919fdf&id=1613c383a7&e=b127b6a5ed) to her credit, she has created everything from thoughtful electronic ruminations to miniatures for percussion and sampler, while elsewhere she uses the format of club music to create decidedly non-club pieces. Her particular approach to production has resulted in commissions and international collaborations with filmmakers and visual artists producing sound and music for film, installation and performance at Southbank Centre, ICA, Tate, Barbican, Lisson, amongst others.

Completing the bill, York artist Theo Burt (http://facebook.us11.list-manage1.com/track/click?u=965bfdc5483b693a98a919fdf&id=2e452271b1&e=b127b6a5ed) works playful with computer sound, video and light to create a partial predictability, and the effects of this on perceptions of space and time. He makes extensive use of automatic systems, setting up tensions between the intelligibility of processes and the intuitive experiencing of their results. His output includes installations, live performances and fixed-media pieces. One of the best electronic releases of 2015, his most recent album Gloss (http://facebook.us11.list-manage1.com/track/click?u=965bfdc5483b693a98a919fdf&id=90fd91e850&e=b127b6a5ed) , recorded in 2009 and released on Lorenzo Senni’s PRESTO!? (http://facebook.us11.list-manage1.com/track/click?u=965bfdc5483b693a98a919fdf&id=1eeedb2b63&e=b127b6a5ed) , sees him rearrange and loop old Casio synth sounds, resulting in unexpected curiosities and bizarrely emotive music.
