The* Sonic Code Sessions (back room)* are open conversations between sound
artists, coders, musicians, learners and anyone interested in generative
music and the use of computing skills for sonic expression. This time,
we'll try to set up a quadraphonic system. If successful, we'll then
present and discuss the idea of a quad performance

we have invited artist Gabriel S Moses

to
talk about why he lies. In his performances and films Gabriel radically
accelerates deceptive online strategies such as false identities, trolling,
disinformation and absurd viral myths, in a way which undermines the work
itself. But this mischievous logic simply mirrors a larger trend in the
current political climate: The act of telling or revealing the truth seems
to have been eclipsed by an evasive power dynamic in which politicians seem
to have stopped caring about their own credibility while constantly
discrediting those who blow the whistle on them, as mere pawns and liars.
Gabriel’s work offers just one of several approaches to critical engagement
within this mind boggling discourse of ‘post-fact’, which will be further
explored in the main event.

*12-13 Nov: Workshop: TRACKING FORENSICS | Joana Moll & Andrea Noni *

*Saturday 12 Nov 10:00 - 17:00 / Sunday 13 Nov 12:00 - 17:00*

Far from being a purely immaterial entity, the Internet is an extremely
complex physical structure composed by a massive number of actors that have
a direct and deep impact in every aspect of our daily lives. Despite its
crucial role in many aspects of our society, the material and computational
architectures that allow the Internet to exist are widely ignored by most
of its users.

Thus, this workshop seeks to critically reveal and analyze the complex
network of agents that come together to configure the Internet, from
submarine and underground cables to geopolitics, online tracking,
surveillance and privacy. The workshop will strongly focus on uncovering
and analyzing common online tracking practices used by major marketing and
advertising corporations.

and deep. A special evening bringing together three experienced players
from the Berlin and Californian experimental scene.

EXHIBITION #7: BEHAVIOURAL MACHINES

*18-19-20 November 2016 at SPEKTRUM*
*Curated by Alfredo Ciannameo*

The exhibition '*Behavioural Machines*' explores the way in which
mathematical models that describe complex natural phenomena have been
used to create new audiovisual works appllied to domains such as light
sculpture, robotics and abstract film. Chaos theory, swarm behavior and
processes of emerging
life in the biological world (morphogenesis) are the three dimensions in
which the selected projects unfold the beauty of modern algorithms.
Using their fundamental rules to set a visual language, these
works challenge the audience to look inside the intelligence of the 'Mother
of Design': Nature,
while anticipating the contemporary debate underlying the science and
technology that makes it possible to bring those representations to the
next level
by means of an Artificial Intelligence (A.I.): the ultimate state
in which the algorithm generates its own creative behaviour.

*ARTWORKS:*

*So Kanno - LaserBugs (prototype) with projection mapping in collaboration
with Krisjanis Rijnieks*
*TeZ - PLASM*
*Ran Ancor - Second Brain*

*Opening: Friday 18 November 18:00 // running daily from 16:00 - 23:00
Entrance 5-10 euro*

*SPEKTRUM* is a project space in Neukölln for idealisation, realisation and
exhibition of technology-based artworks, media-focused events and
futuristic utopias based on the principle "do-it-together-with-others". Above
all, we are an open space promoting participatory processes to co-define
and co-design a social and physical playground for curiosity and critical
understanding.
