David Evans is a writer and picture editor, based in Berlin. Recent books include Appropriation (Whitechapel Gallery / MIT Press, 2009) and Critical Dictionary (Black Dog Publishing, 2011). The latter is based on criticaldictionary.com, an online photography magazine that Evans founded and edited from 2001 to 2010. At the moment he is working on a new book called "Raiding the Internet : new directions in photo-appropriation". Evans is a research fellow attached to the History and Theory of Photography Research Centre, Birkbeck, University of London.

This little exhibition for I-A-M registers his ongoing interest in the purloined image.
