[resource-net] Vorspiel Meeting and Summary

Hello all,

Finally, here is a summary from the last reSource network meeting which
was held exactly one month ago at SPEKTRUM.
As promised then, transmediale would like to invite everyone for an info
meeting about the 2016 pre-festival programme
that we would very much like to again coordinate and facilitate together
with CTM festival.

The pre-festival Vorspiel meeting will take place on the 20th of
October, 19hrs, at our offices, Podewil, Klosterstr 68.
In this meeting we will inform about how we are planning the
pre-festival programme and discuss some open points
with you. transmediale and ctm will shortly present their festival
frameworks and we will further discuss the practicalities,
including deadlines for the Vorspiel programme, communication timeline
etc. Any feedback and ideas on this process
is welcome. A specific point to discuss is also the common Vorspiel
opening that we are planning for the 15th of January at ACUD.
We would like again to shape this as a point of networking and
presentation of the different venues and are working to give it also
some political visibility. More on all this in the meeting! Looking forward.

Summary

reSource Network Meeting at SPEKTRUM 7 September 2015, 1900*
*A meetup for spaces and actors at the intersection of art, technology
and the politics of digital culture.

Participants:

Lieke Ploeger, (spektrum) , Kristoffer Gansing (transmediale), Ben
Vickers (tm/Serpetine/unMonastery), Serhat Köksal (visiting artist),
Zeynep Sarikartal (visiting artist/researcher), Christian de Lutz (Art
Laboratory Berlin), Kim Voss (Network Disruption Lab), Adam Burns
(artist/activist), Live Cinema Lab, Sarah Theurer (tm), Inga Seidler
(tm), Desiree Förster (curator/technosphere), Erika Šiekštelytė (Panke),
Pod/Citizen Kino, Francesco Mancori (artist) , Topsy (artist),
Elisabetta Rapetti (tm) and many more (sorry not all names were clearly
registered).

- Introduction Round including presenation of Spektrum by Lieke .

Lieke talked about running the fairly new space SPEKTRUM, about building
their community and networks with other media art activists, artists
curators. The space has a very active programme of visual art, media
art, experimental music and maker culture. Will set up a small lab in
the future.
In connection with this, the Live Cinema Lab of SPEKTRUM presented
themselves and other communities were mentioned such as Smell Lab,
Reconnect and State Studio.

- Introducing transmediale / Kristoffer Gansing
Kristoffer summed up the thoughts towards the next transmediale,
Conversation Piece, which takes another form than the usual festival.
There is no static exhibition and instead of one theme there is a
broader thematic range and a programme focused on things happening
through live and participatory/dialogic forms.

transmediale once again plans to coordinate the pre-festival together
with CTM known as Vorspiel.
After the positive feedback from last year, it is set to start already 3
weeks before the festivals and feature a common opening event. A meeting
will be announced in October as an info date about this.

- Discussion round
Further intiatives gave a status update on their current programming and
focus, including Panke, Network Disruption Lab, Art Laboratory Berlin,
Citizen Kino and invididual practitioners/artists.
A general positive feedback to the reSource network meetings were
expressed and a wish that they would happen more often again in the
future. Erika raised the wish to again focus the reSource work in
workgroups to make it more effective.
