*Community meeting*

Sonic Code Session is a place for discussing and exchanging ideas as well
as presenting projects related to code-based audio synthesis - the
technique of creating sound where individually designed computer programs
determine the sonic output.

This session will not host a "major" talk or presentation. Instead, we
invite all visitors to present ideas, code, short pieces of work etc.,
either own stuff or interesting work of others. So please bring your
laptops etc.. We will also have time for conversions and discussions,
newcomers can also get some help getting started with different software
(e.g. SuperCollider, depending on who is around).

Alpha Waves #1: Altaj and Adamennon

*Alpha wave sound series #1*

Asian animism and stories from the nomad populations of Tibet and Mongolia
are the inspiration for the sound art project of Altaj and Adamennon.

*Adamennon *pieces can be described as a result is a mixture of darkness
and shafts of light, peace and dissonances following the same path towards
the unknown which can only be imagined through the sounds which announce it.

*Altaj *is an ambient/drone project of Francesco Vara, is a research in
sounds from unidentified and sparse, liquid landscapes. Inspiration comes
from Siberian shamanism, ecstatic voyages and divinities of the Asian
highlands.

*An evening with The Society for Nontrivial Pursuits (students, alumni and
associates of the class Generative Art / Computational Art at UdK Berlin*

Complex behaviors, whether in feedback systems, chaotic circuits, social
systems and/or computer programs are fascinating objects of study. The
Society for Nontrivial Pursuits explores the possibility spaces of such
systems for experimental performance. They design, build and program their
own audio/visual performance systems based on a variety of devices,
sensors, analog electronics, and software synthesis, and use them in
extremely diverse projects, often intended for performance contexts.

The state of relation is the core aspect of this third exhibition at
Spektrum.
By being set on sensing the environment, digital technologies open the
possibility to explore events related to motion, perception and space
interaction. The stream of data-entry is the available material for artists
to interpret in the form of graphical, luminous, architectural, kinetic
and/or visual representation.
What is the effect of collecting data by machines? How this can be used to
reshape and magnify our experience of reality? These open questions are
applied to multiple domains, revealing common coordinates for a fundamental
geometry in the fields of interaction design and data visualization.

*SPEKTRUM* is a project space in Neukölln for idealisation, realisation and
exhibition of technology-based artworks, media-focused events and
futuristic utopias based on the principle
"do-it-together-with-others". Above all, we are an open space promoting
participatory processes to co-define and co-design a social and physical
playground for curiosity and critical understanding.
