Dear Berliners.

While the tension is still very high in the Rigaer/Liebig Kiez (after what
has happened few weeks ago) at Liebig12 vibes are good.

Here is the upcoming workshop happening on *July 18 & 19* by artist
musician
*Kris Limbach *for those who might enjoy to participate.

In his latest project “Music for dysfunctional airports” expanded cinema
techniques on prepared and found super 8 film footage are used as a base
material for generating visuals and sound.

For this workshop, Improvising on Film: A D.I.Y. Approach to Cinema *Kris
Limbach* proposes to go over his entire creative process with attendees,
from filming and developing footage to transforming and destroying it. The
material that is filmed during the workshop will be developed together with
participants using Kris Limbach's personal processing techniques which
follows the lines of d.i.y. punk aesthetics, direct film and avant-garde
film in the tradition of Jonas Mekas, Dietmar Brehm and Stan Brakhage. He
will show participants expanded cinema techniques including improvising
with the projector's light and speed as well as burning the film to achieve
visible chemical transformation. Later on the participants will get a brief
introduction into open source video and sound editing via kdenlive, ardour
and similar tools. Each person will create his/her own improvised piece of
a visual cadavre exquis.

*Day 1 (11h-17h)*
Introduction into filming, processing and projection of super8 and 16mm.
A quick introduction into video & sound editing in Linux with the AvLinux
Distrtibution quick & dirty storyboarding of a small scene of each
participant Film shooting

*Day 2 (11-18h)*
Film Shooting and development / different techniques film scratching and
treatment Digitizing the material Fieldrecording and sound recording Video
and sound editing Film-Performance/Live film treatment.

All Levels Maximum 10 participants
Cost : 60€ (55€ + 5€ Film & Chemicals, etc..)
