Sat 7 June, 2014 from 14.00

Programme includes

14:00-18.00:
deFacebook Sessions with Danja Vasiliev

If you're feeling fed-up with Facebook devouring your data and would like
to preserve your existing content, if you want to take control of your
profile and digital legacy, without deleting and losing your contacts, then
learn how to deFacebook yourself!

During this 4-hour session you will learn to save and remove your images,
posts and comments from Facebook, clear your Facebook history and
deactivate parts of your account, which you no longer want to use or find
useful.

Since the launch of Facebook in 2004, the social media network has become
one of the most pervasive online communities. Tapping into our most innate,
social needs the network enables users to create personal profiles, upload
data and connect to friends and family. While Facebook's privacy policies
allows for the use of users images and names for commercial advertising,
without prior consent. As a result if you want to control, retrieve, save
or archive your personal data, Facebook makes this very difficult. This
first deFacebook session, lead by critical engineer Danja Vasiliev will
enable you to gain more control of your Facebook content.
