voices, cello, objects, electronics, antics

Artists Bios:
*David Maranha ´*s works encompasses sculpture, music and architecture.
In 1986 he started to develop his work as a musician both as a solo artist
and with several bands and has since released more than 30 albums. He has
formed “osso exótico” in 1989. He has worked with musicians such as Z’EV,
Emmanuel Holterbach, Helena Espvall, Phill Niblock, David Grubbs, Akio
Suzuki, Will Guthrie, Andrea Belfi, Jochen Arbeit, Minit, Pete Simonelli,
David Daniell, Arnold Dreyblatt, Jacob Kirkegaard, Carla Bozulich, Chris
Cutler, Werner Durand, Robert Rutman, Ben Frost, Helge Sten and more. His
collaborative projects, include: Organ Eye, Bowline, Curia. http://

*Alex Zhang Hungtai´s *project Dirty Beaches´s spanned low-slung, lo-fi,
post-rockabilly to ambient instrumentals. Hungtai's music is equally
familiar-sounding and surreal, mixing a croon worthy of Elvis or Roy
Orbison with Suicide-like drum machines and a fondness for found sounds and
hypnotic loops. He moved to Zoo Records for his official debut album,
Badlands, which was released in early 2011. Hungtai remained busy, issuing
singles on Suicide Squeeze and a split with Xiu Xiu in 2011 and 2012. He
released the Water Park soundtrack on A Records in March 2013 and the
double album Drifters/Love Is the Devil that May. In 2014, Hungtai
announced that his album Stateless would be his last under the Dirty
Beaches name. Featuring viola courtesy of Italian composer Vittorio Demarin
and mixing by Dean Hurley, Stateless was released in November 2014. http://

*Andrea Belfi* is a drummer and composer. His projects and collaborations
extend to diverse musical fields. He plays with Erik Skodvin, Stefano
Pilia, Mike Watt, David Grubbs, BJNilsen, Simon James Phillips, Aidan
Baker, Hobocombo. His fifth solo record "Natura Morta" has just been
released by Miasmah recordings.
“Rhythm may well be written into the DNA of every human, as fundamental as
a heartbeat, yet with “Wege” Belfi demonstrates a rare understanding of its
subtleties and complexities.” Nathan Thomas - Fluid Radio

*Gerard Lebik* is a sound artist, musician living Wroclaw/Poland. Works
with improvised, experimental and intermedia music. H's the author of sound
installations and sound interventions in public space. Creates music and
sound either by improvisation, musical notation or through directly
manipulation of sonic material using electro and acoustic media. Explores
the audible phenomena field through various tools and techniques:
saxophones, zopan wave generators, air compressors, VHS recorders, video
objects, electronics, analog video feedback, software. In 2007 graduated
Wroclaw Academy of Music. He performed with: David Maranha, Eryck
Abecassis, Kazuhisa Uchihashi, Keith Rowe, Clayton Thomas, Gabriel
Ferrnandini, Noritaka Tanaka, Bettina Wenzel, hans w koch, Joker Nies,
Rodrigo Pinheiro, Christian Marien, Marc Riordan,, Pawel Janicki, Piotr
Damasiewicz, Kuba Suchar, Ura Hiroyuki, Sebastian Meissner among others.

Together, they look to be a motley couple wielding a cello, perhaps an old
saab side window, various other surfaces, table, objects and toys... and
most importantly, their mouths. And together, they create some pretty
intense, physical, humorous, jarring, unusual and sometimes strangely
beautiful sound combinations and caterwauling.
They are as incongruous as they are a natural pair, delving deep into their
own shared, wordless and analog languages.

*Audrey Chen *is a Chinese-American musician who was born into a family of
material scientists, doctors and engineers, outside of Chicago in 1976.
Parting ways with the family convention, she turned to the cello at age 8
and voice at 11. Now, using the cello, voice and analog electronics, Chen’s
work delves deeply into her own version of narrative and non-linear
storytelling. A large component of her music is improvised and her approach
to this is extremely personal and visceral. Her playing explores the
combination and layering of a homemade analog synthesizer, preparations and
traditional and extended techniques in both the voice and cello.

Among musicians, she has worked with Phil Minton, Tetuzi Akiyama, Toshimaru
Nakamura, Ko Ishikawa, Tomomi Adachi, Matana Roberts, Elliott Sharp, Aki
Onda, Phill Niblock, Frederic Blondy, Jerome Noetinger, C. Spencer Yeh,
Nate Wooley, Mats Gustafsson, Mazen Kerbaj, Michael Zerang, Tatsuya
Nakatani, Le Quan Ninh, Joe Mcphee, Susan Alcorn, Michele Doneda, Paolo
Angeli, Dylan Nyoukis, Id M Theft Able, plus many more.

Recent collaborations aside from performing solo, include her voice only
duo with London based artist, Phil Minton and a multidisciplinary project
with German conceptual artist, John Bock. Her most recent album releases
include, a quartet with Nate Wooley, C. Spencer Yeh and Todd Carter on
Monotype (Warsaw), and a duo record with Phil Minton on Subrosa (Brussels).

*Id m theft able* is an improvising soundist from Windham, Maine, USA. His
instruments tend to include his mouth (with or without the use of vocal
chords), an assortment of found objects/toys/junk which are sometimes
amplified via an "amplified surface" (glass, metal, wood), various
electronics, and, on occasion some "conventional instrumentation" sneaks
into the picture. http://kraag.org/id
