A three-day Symposium, Workshop & Community Meeting*
*18—20 October 2013, SUPERMARKT Berlin

*Curated by Ela Kagel [SUPERMARKT] & Kate Martin [Contemporary Art 
Exchange]*

During this three-day symposium, workshop and community meeting, we will 
look into various models of work organisation and community approaches 
that ensure life and work quality. We look behind the cliché of the 
freelance worker and explore the old and new territories of unions and 
co-operations as tools for achieving common goals. We round off the 
symposium with an interesting exchange of strategies and structures of 
self-organisation.

Während des dreitägigen Symposiums & Workshops werden wir verschiedene 
Formen der Organisation von Arbeit und Community-Ansätze zur Sicherung 
von Lebens-und Arbeitsqualität betrachten. Wir blicken hinter die 
Klischees des Freiberuflertums und untersuchen sowohl bewährte als auch 
neue Strategien von Genossenschaften und sozialen Unternehmen. Das 
Symposium wird abgerundet durch einen informellen Austausch rund um 
Strategien des eigentverantwortlichen Managements von Arbeit, Zeit und Geld.
