Liebe FreundInnen des SUPERMARKT,

Der Berliner Winterschlaf geht langsam zu Ende und wir laden Euch ein, mit uns den Frühling willkommen zu heißen: Bei einem Kaffee während des Freitagsfrühstücks, in einem unserer Workshops oder beim gemeinsamen Arbeiten im SUPERMARKT!

Da die Schreibtische in unseren Studios mittlerweile komplett ausgebucht sind, haben wir unsere Coworking-Möglichkeiten im SUPERMARKT erweitert. Wir bieten komfortable Tische und Stühle, einen Panoramablick auf die Brunnenstrasse, viel Licht und Sonne, guten Kaffee und schnelles Internet. Zudem installieren wir gerade Drucker, Schneidetische und andere technologischen Annehmlichkeiten. Also, kommt vorbei und nutzt den SUPERMARKT als euren temporären Arbeitsplatz!

Unser Frühlingsprogram bringt spannende neue Formate und Themen: im März geht es bei uns um selbsterhaltende Systeme, Medienkunsträume und KuratorInnen in Berlin, die Nutzung von Community-Ressourcen und kollaboratives Arbeiten. Hier unsere Programm-Highlights der kommenden Wochen:

Freitag, 8. März von 9-12 Uhr: FREITAGSFRÜHSTÜCK - Wir starten eine neue, monatliche Veranstaltungsreihe, bei der sich die SUPERMARKT-Community zum entspannten Frühstück trifft. Bei jedem Freitagsfrühstück wird es eine Projekt-Präsentation geben, diesmal von und mit Karen Wohlert und Scott Bolden vom Baumhaus Berlin.

Mittwoch, 13. März, ab 18.30 Uhr: MEDIENKUNSTRÄUME UND KURATORINNEN IN BERLIN - Ein Offener Präsentationsabend - Wir laden KuratorInnen und VertreterInnen von Medienkunsträumen aus Berlin zu einem offenen Präsentationsabend ein, um sich und ihre Arbeit vorzustellen. Wir freuen uns auf die Mitglieder des reSource Netzwerks und alle anderen InteressentInnen.

Dienstag, 26. - Donnerstag, 28. März, 10-18 Uhr: WRANGLING FOR WATCHDOGS: School of Data Workshop - Bei diesem dreitägigen Pilot-Workshop geht es um die konstruktive Nutzung von offenen Daten, um die Analyse von Informationen oder frei zugängliche Daten für eine kreative Nutzung in Präsentationen und Kampagnen.

Mittwoch, 27. März, 15-18 Uhr: DIY MASTERCLASS #10: URBANE UNABHÄNGIGKEIT & SELBSTERHALTUNG - Bei diesem Workshop von Valentina Karga stehen selbsterhaltende Systeme, alternative Ökonomien und DIY-Kultur im Vordergrund. TeilnehmerInnen lernen, wie Systeme wie z.B. Aquaponik, Biogasanlagen oder Solarkocher funktionieren bzw. wie man diese selbst bauen kann.

Donnerstag, 4. - Samstag, 6. April, 10-18 Uhr: NEWTHINKING MAGAZIN SPRINT - Digitale Kultur, Netzpolitik, DIY, Kollaboration, Open Everything - um Themen wie diese soll es im Magazin gehen. Doch noch ist keine Zeile geschrieben und kein Inhalt festgelegt. All dies geschieht vor Ort während des Sprints. Open Source Enthusiasten aller Art sind eingeladen, mitzumachen. Das Magazin wird auf der re:publica 2013 präsentiert.

Dear friends of SUPERMARKT,

As Berlin's winter hibernation draws to an end, join us in welcoming the spring with a coffee in our cafe, a Friday breakfast, an evening event or co-working in SUPERMARKT! Due to popular demand - with the SUPERMARKT Studio co-working offices being completely booked out - we have expanded our co-working facilities and are now offering working zones in the main SUPERMARKT space. These include comfortable work chairs and benches, panoramic views of the Brunnenstrasse fountains, lots of natural light, quality coffee, snacks, and last but not least an uninterrupted high-speed internet connection. We are also installing a Booksprint infrastructure, printers and other office facilities as you read. So come and check out the new co-working options at SUPERMARKT, and grab a seat while you can!

Our spring program is based on exciting new formats and themes such as urban self-sufficiency, tapping on communal resources, celebrating Berlin's technology-based art spaces and curators, community gatherings, and finding common ground for creative collaborations. Here is a selection of our event highlights over the coming weeks:

Friday 8 March, 9am—12pm: FREITAGSFRÜHSTÜCK - Join us for the first edition of our new breakfast series and morning social gathering. These monthly get-togethers will include a presentation from inspiring members of SUPERMARKT's creative community and a breakfast buffet, while the sun (hopefully) shines through our windows. The presenters for our first Freitagsfrühstück will be Karen Wohlert und Scott Bolden from Wedding's Das Baumhaus.

Wed 13 March, from 6:30pm: TECHNOLOGY-BASED ART SPACES AND CURATORS IN BERLIN: An Open Presentation Evening - SUPERMARKT hosts an evening of open presentations from Berlin's community of technology-based art spaces and curators. We look forward to welcoming members of Berlin's reSource network, as well as anyone with an interest in the topic, to share their work and foster future collaborations.

Tue 26—Thu 28 March, 10am—6pm: WRANGLING FOR WATCHDOGS: School of Data Workshop - This three-day pilot workshop from School of Data looks at constructive uses of open data, analysis of information, and making data freely available for creative use in presentations and campaigns.

Wed 27 March, 3—5pm: DIY MASTERCLASS #10: Urban Self-Sufficiency - A free Masterclass covering topics including autonomy, open source knowledge, alternative economies, DIY culture and self-sufficiency. Discover how to make basic infrastructural plans as well as how systems like aquaponics, biogas digesters, solar cookers and compost toilets work. Learn tips on growing and preserving your own food, and different possibilities of living a sustainable urban lifestyle.

Thu 4—Sat 6 April, 10am—6pm: NEWTHINKING MAGAZINE SPRINT - Digital culture, net politics, DIY, collaboration, Open Everything - these are the themes of the newthinking Magazine Sprint. But not a single line is written and no content is set - all of this will happen during the sprint. Open source enthusiasts of all kinds are invited to participate. The published magazine will be presented at re:publica 2013.
