Dear Public Art Lab and reSource-Community,

It was a very enjoyable evening; much thanks to Public Art Lab!

As I was telling you on this past reSource meeting, ikono is launching its first on-air festival September. We are very open to contributions from Berlin-based artists. And so I would also like to take the opportunity to extend an invitation to the artists among you, or artists you might be in contact with, who would be interested to participate.

At the end of this mail, is an invitation from our festival director Jack Pam.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact me, or send your ideas directly to Jack.

best regards, and looking forward to the next meeting,

Maru

> Dear reSource-Community,
>
> ikono is delighted to inform you of an exciting project that we will be undertaking in September in which we hope you may be interested in participating.
>
> ikono is an innovative media platform dedicated to democratizing access to art through the production and broadcast of short films presenting it to the wider public sphere. We produce high quality HD films featuring artwork from antiquity to the contemporary period. We currently broadcast 24/7 in over 30 countries via satellite, IPTV, and HD. In September we will also be launching a web-streaming service with availability across the world.
>
> For the first time in television history, ikono is launching an on air arts festival. From the 6th through the 29th of September, the festival will celebrate art works ascribed to non-narrative filmmaking and other important, time-based art practices from different periods and movements from the past until today.
> The ikono On Air Festival represents a unique moment in TV and art history, where artists and institutions are invited to connect with a global audience in a way that is free from traditional gallery formats and time limits. ikono would like our expanding global audience to discover your work in a way that allows them to focus entirely on the visual experience you have created.
>
> We would like to invite you to suggest works, which can be of any length or format, that you think could contribute to our program. However, as ikono is broadcasted internationally and throughout many different countries and cultures, we ask that you only submit works without dialogue, narration, or text in order to guarantee the accessibility of our content and to ensure our audiences a purely visual encounter.
>
> We would be delighted if you decided to join our exciting line-up of established and emerging artists, including Bill Viola, Olafur Eliasson, Hans Schabus, Adad Hannah, Kite & Laslett, Alexander Schellow, and Anthony McCall, with additional content provided by leading galleries and institutions such as the Pompidou Centre and many others.
> If you would like further information regarding the program, or ikono in general, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Jack Pam, the Festival Director is also available to answer any questions you may have about the program via email (jack.pam at ikono.org) or phone on +49 157 802 68 486.
>
> If you would prefer, we can also arrange a time to speak personally by phone in the coming weeks.
> Many thanks for your time and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
>
> Kind regards,

> Jack Pam
