Hi all,

So i'm guessing it may be a good idea to remind the list that this
reSource meeting is happening TONIGHT...

> Next reSource-Meeting / Monday 3 June at Public Art Lab

I somehow missed this email initially, and Chris from Art Laboratory
Berlin ( the other Lab ) pointed it out to me... Thx Chris!

From my own perspective, as an artist currently dealing with
(psycho-)media analysis and exploring how to use art as tool for
resistance, intervention and building social alternatives, it's been both
fascinating and unsettling to observe the erupting discontent in Turkey
this weekend... and how that's playing out in the social media realm.

In addition to that, there was Frankfurt Blockupy !

And if you missed it, an extraordinary event for the upcoming Bradley
Manning Trial this weekend - a solidarity demo in Berlin at Brandenburger
Tor. Led by Andy Müller-Maguhn, a longtime member of the German hacker
association Chaos Computer Club (since 1986 ), and others like Diani
Barreto, media activist and artist from Cuba, who has been collaborating
with Re:source on this theme. If interested, video archives are already up
at: http://www.freebradleymanning.net/

How does all this fit in with URBAN MEDIA ART ??

Well hopefully i might figure that out by 2nite... and try to bring it to
the conversation ;)

...

In short, the times feel intense ! And as we gobble up (or not) all these
mesmerizing and complex tales of all the looming social crises, what role
can urban media art play in processing all this information, all this
discontent, and transform that knowledge into effective community
engagements? and/or preparedness ? and/or media self-defense ? ... and/or
something completely different ?!

...

ok, see ya all 2nite :)

Paolo
