[resource-net] resource-net Digest, Vol 4, Issue 14

Dear all,

it was great to meet all of you at the last network meeting! And thank
you again to our fabulous hosts of Apartment Project! The atmosphere was
very nice and relaxed and I personally enjoined to see so many new
faces! /and the "old" ones of course :)

Just a little comment about the presentations. During the meeting I
flagged the issue of finding a kind of "focus" to avoid getting
completely lost and give to such presentations a scope. I was reflecting
about the fact that we called such previous meetings "Technology Based
Art Spaces and Curators in Berlin", after a long discussion with many
people of this list. If the presentation events will somehow be a
consequence of such meetings, and a nice derivation of them, we could
perhaps say that such presentations are related to projects from
"Technology Based Art Spaces and Curators in Berlin"? In this way we
would go on with the objecting of finding synergies about people that
have a long term objective in the city landscape...

One thing, this could lead to the discussion of what is actually a
curator. So, if we consider the "figure" of a curator in a open way,
specifically coming from Latin: curare meaning "take care", than we
could say that a curator is someone that takes care of a project in the
local (and translocal) landscape, but with the goal of working for a
common political / artistic / sociocultural prospective, not just only
promoting her/his individual artwork?
My 2 cents (having nothing against artworks of course).

Hugs!

Tatiana
