reSource-net Vorspiel-Meeting: August 29,  2013 - 14.00-18.00

This meeting of the reSource-net community is dedicated to the proposal 
of building the transmediale and CTM's pre-festival programme, the 
"Vorspiel", by creating a process of sharing and synergy among the 
individuals and the spaces that are part of the reSource network, or 
close to it. transmediale and CTM's Vorspiel is a pre-festival programme 
of distributed partner events, where a variety of partner venues invites 
to a series of exhibition openings, performances, artist talks and 
special events outside the main venues of either festival. The Vorspiel 
will take place on the weekend prior to both festivals, from Thursday 23 
– Sunday 26 January 2014, at various organisations, galleries, 
independent project spaces and other venues across Berlin (more

This year, transmediale and CTM want to invite the reSource-net 
community and other spaces in Berlin that are interested to jointly 
develop a part of the Vorspiel programme in accordance with and oriented 
by the two festival themes. The meeting will take place at and be hosted 
by c-base berlin.

With the occasion of the regular network meetings, transmediale and CTM 
will present both the festival themes and their background. They will 
introduce the concept and methodology by which the reSource-net Vorspiel 
programme will be shaped: the initial input will be a set of keywords 
and key questions related to the festival themes along which the single 
spaces and curators could develop a project or initiative that represent 
their individual (or networked) perspective on the theme. After the 
presentation and introduction there will be time to commonly reflect on 
the topics and to discuss further steps of programme development.

After this first meeting, the spaces and curators will be asked to send 
their first draft proposals to transmediale by September 20, 2013. In a 
follow up collective meeting in October at Podewil, where the 
transmediale offices are located, the proposals will all be shared by 
the spaces/initiators in 5-10 minutes presentations. This will hopefully 
guide to possible collaborations, interplays and synergies of projects 
and spaces towards the next Vorspiel. In the following months, regular 
updates on the development and production of these projects will be done 
in the context of the upcoming reSource-net meetings and they will be 
further promoted via the overall festival communication of transmediale. 
In addition to that, a feature on this reSource-net Vorspiel project 
will be included in the second edition of the new transmediale magazine, 
due out in January.
