Presented by reSource transmedial culture berlin and transmediale,
festival for art and digital culture berlin. Curated by Tatiana
Bazzichelli, developed in collaboration with Kunstraum
Kreuzberg/Bethanien, CTM/Disk, the Centre for Digital Cultures/Leuphana
University of Lüneburg, and Mindpirates e.V.

In the current development of digital culture we are experiencing a
condition of overflow. More information is being transmitted than
machines can process and humans can handle. Producing more data
generates more ownership and control, but also increases the desire to
be part of an extended connectivity.
In panels, invited speakers will discuss issues like opacity,
illegibility, and darkness of data production in the digital info-sphere
and consequent tactics of autonomous artistic production. At the core of
the programme are themes such as queer responses to digital
identification technologies and “gamification”, the permeation of
economical, political, and social contexts by game elements, together
with the media industries’ conditioning of online, urban, and exurban
spaces. After discussing the condition of the hybrid artistic production
in Berlin in a broken economy the first issue of the transmediale
magazine will be launched. A sonic abstraction of the reSource network
of free and independent spaces in Berlin is experienced during a
psycho-geographic walk, which concludes with a programme of performances
and concerts at Mindpirates e.V. curated by CTM.

Furthermore, during the event Standard Reserve: The reSource /
transmediale Residency Project will be launched, whose production starts
with a workshop and will lead to transmediale 2014. If you are
interested in participating in the workshop, you can now register via
