FRIDAY 2 NOVEMBER: iPHONE LIVE WORKSHOP & TALK
14:00 - 18:00: iPHONE LIVE WORKSHOP with Johannes P. Osterhoff
Johannes P. Osterhoff is an interface artist whose work deals with the
not so glossy side of contemporary user interfaces. This workshop is a
tool for artists who wish to access their data directly, for designers
who are interested in information visualisation with genuine data
sources, for future hackers who seek to go beyond the common usage of
this technology and for anyone else who is interested in the data
structures behind the shiny iOS interface. This workshop will look at
extracting data and visualising, remixing and publishing it in other
contexts. Screenshots are extracted from open apps and browser windows,
contacts and call history data collected, recent search engine queries
logged, geo coordinates documented and more. The workshop will be held
in English. To attend please RSVP to info at supermarkt-berlin.net. More

20:00 - 21:30: PROJECT TALK by Johannes P. Osterhoff, moderated by Ela
Kagel and Michelle O'Brien
For the past 3 months interface artist Johannes P. Osterhoff has
streamed his iPhone usage live on the web. In this stream one can find
everything from his inbox to his photo albums, when he got up and where
he ate his breakfast. At first glance a post-privacy piece, upon further
reflections iPHONE LIVE devalues the most valuable currency of social
media and the App Store: personal information. iPHONE LIVE makes the
exclusively used data of a smartphone user visible - for everybody's
enjoyment. In this project talk, Johannes presents the project along
with the results of his workshop. After having just returned from South
Korea, the origin of the Samsung Galaxy S3 - iPhone's biggest rival, he
will also report on how notions of privacy and acceptance of new
technology differ in this highly technological country. The talk will be
held in English. More info on this event at http://tiny.cc/yo7xmw /
