...and here comes the call!

reSource 003: P2P Vorspiel
call for participation

reSource transmediale culture Berlin invites you to participate in
reSource 003: P2P Vorspiel. reSource 003: P2P Vorspiel aims at promoting
digital and post-digital culture among project spaces, galleries,
institutions and venues across Berlin as well as strengthening the
network among such actors. The P2P Vorspiel will run Jan 25 –27 2013,
the weekend before transmediale 2013 "BWPWAP" and CTM.13 "THE GOLDEN
AGE". The third reSource event will inaugurate the festivals' activities
and thereby make use of the attention these festivals generate.

We address independent venues, platforms, curators and artists across
Berlin to present exhibitions, projects or events within the framework
of reSource 003. These partner initiatives will be promoted by
transmediale and CTM Festival.

reSource 003: P2P Vorspiel intends to continue the process of
establishing a network for cultural producers and institutions which has
been introduced by reSource transmedial culture Berlin within the last
year (see: http://www.transmediale.de/resource). The network aims to
create occasions of sharing and reflections by bringing together
communities and individuals who work critically with art, technology,
politics and identity. For that reason we want you to submit your
proposal via this mailing list (resource-net). We aim to establish
unusual collaborations and unique projects deriving from a networked
process.

Since reSource 003 is also considered as the launch of transmediale 2013
and CTM.13, the content of the participating exhibitions, projects or
events might ideally relate to the main themes of either of these two
festivals:

BWPWAP - Back When Pluto Was a Planet is the thematic framework of
transmediale 2013, taking the 2006 demotion of Pluto in the planetary
system as a metaphor for different shifts within network culture,
identity and society. transmediale 2013 suggests that a crisis of
classification, spurred on by new technologies and paradigms of
observation, opens up a rich space of cultural negotiation and artistic
interventions. The festival invites you to contest the apparently given,
through a programme that re-enacts not so distant pasts and half
forgotten places, exploring unrealistic and poetic modes of cultural
critique - as if BWPWAP.

Alongside, The Golden Age, the theme of the next CTM Festival, draws
attention to the increasing wealth of material in the digital era, just
waiting to be sourced and reprocessed by generating pastiche, paradox,
fusion and morphing. The festival thus reflects on the (over-) abundance
of music in the modern world, and its consequences for individuals,
aesthetics, politics, and economy.

Spaces or projects that have already confirmed their presence are: Art
Laboratory Berlin, Supermarkt, ArtConnect Berlin, CiTiZEN KiNO, LEAP,
Liebig12, Gegen, Homopatik, Panke.

To take part in resource 003: P2P Vorspiel, send a brief proposal (only
text, no HTML, no images please) to the reSource mailing list
(resource-net at transmediale.de) until Nov 20 2012 with information on how
your venue, organisation or/and project can be involved (please, be
aware that each venue is responsible for its own event production). We
wish to generate a discussion and exchange of spaces and projects in the
context of the resource mailing list. Feel free to comment, propose and
share ideas!

reSource transmedial culture Berlin will publish a complete list of all
involved projects on Dec 07 2012 via the reSource mailing list.

We look forward to hearing from you and collaborating on the next
reSource event!
