In times in which the meaning of social and political geographies seems to uprise this edition will focus on cultural work and highlight the importance to connecting cities and citizen on a North-South-Axis. In cooperation with <a href="http://www.mitost.org/">MitOst e.V.</a> and <a href="http://tandemexchange.eu/about-tandem/tandem-shaml/">Tandem Shaml</a> cultural workers from European and Arab countries will share their projects and provide insights to the value of transcontinental cooperation projects within the current socio-cultural and political context.</p><p>Our neighbours <a href="http://bi-bak.de">Bi’Bak</a> will host the culinary part of the evening with their refugee kitchen and a Syrian + Pakistani cook. </p><div><span class="fsl">Join us from 19h for the talks and presentations or from 21h for music, drinks and food.</span></div><div><a href="https://www.facebook.com/events/178354165854258/">https://www.facebook.com/events/178354165854258/</a></div><div><br></div><p><strong>LIAM YOUNG – NEW CITY Screenings</strong></p><p><img apple-inline="yes" id="69A50674-AEAA-4D5F-9DF8-1ECB6977B01B" height="135" width="320" apple-width="yes" apple-height="yes" src="cid:95A549F1-04E4-4B5C-A8D0-A97073A8D663@localdomain"></p><p>Public Art Lab is delighted to present <a href="http://www.tomorrowsthoughtstoday.com/">Liam Young</a>’s ‘New City’ animation series in cooperation with <a href="http://transmediale.de/">transmediale</a> and the <a href="http://www.berlin.balassiintezet.hu/de/">Collegium Hungaricum Berlin</a>:</p><p>New City, 2014<br>by Liam Young</p><div><p>New City is a series of animated skylines of the near future, that depict a speculative urbanism. Photographs taken on expeditions around the world with the nomadic studio Unknown Fields, to document these emerging phenomena and weak signals have been meticulously stitched together and extrapolated to form each city skyline. In this way ‘New City’ slips between the real and the imagined, between the documentary and the visionary.
