a flash. Our heart is broken, the next days feel like
fifteen weeks, and suddenly we wonder: What, if

Wissenschaft und Kunst in Berlin seine Besucher in
eine Parallelwelt zwischen den Disziplinen. Es lädt
dazu ein, Wissenschaft auf eine neue Weise zu erleben.
Das diesjährige Thema des viertägigen STATE Experience
Science Festivals ist "Zeit". Was ist Zeit? Wie
beeinflusst sie unser Leben? Über 60 internationale
Wissenschaftler und Künstler präsentieren ihre
Interpretationen des Festivalthemas in Installationen,

Auswahl internationaler Kurzfilmarbeiten. Teil des
Programm ist die Europa-Premiere des Films "The
Creeping Garden" des britischen Filmemachers Tim
Grabham - ein surrealer Blick auf eine Gattung
eigenartiger Organismen und die Wissenschaftler und

Freitag, 31.10.2014, um 10:00 Uhr beginnt das
Hauptprogramm des STATE Experience Science Festivals
in der Alten Münze. Der Fokus auf den über 1500qm der
verlassenen Münzprägefabrik nahe Alexanderplatz:
Reflektion und Interaktion. Teil der Ausstellung, die
künstlerische und wissenschaftliche Ansätze
nebeneinander und miteinander vereint, ist der
Serbische Künstler Nenad Popov mit seiner Arbeit
"Pulse, Flow" - einer Installation, die zur
Betrachtung mikroskopischer Vorgänge einlädt und den
Besucher zur Entschleunigung verleitet. Im "Time
bureau" können Besucher basierend auf psychologischen
Tests ihren Zeit-Typ bestimmen lassen. Achtsamkeit
lehrt ein Meditations-Workshop unter Benutzung von
EEG-Sensoren. Das Vortragsprogramm beleuchtet die
verschiedenen wissenschaftlichen Perspektiven auf das
Thema "Zeit", unter anderem durch einen Einblick in
die Macht unserer inneren Uhr von der Chronobiologin
Prof. Martha Merrow. Der Freitag steht außerdem im
Zeichen der professionellen Begegnung von Wissenschaft
und Kunst, wenn das STATE Forum unter Beteiligung
internationaler Fachleute zur Diskussion von Chancen
und Herausforderungen bei der interdisziplinären
Zusammenarbeit einlädt. Im Abendprogramm tritt der
Pianist John Kameel Farah auf und zeigt mit
Unterstützung von Videokünstlern eine Auswahl von
Kompositionen, die in Zusammenarbeit mit Astrophysiker
entstanden sind. Abschliessender Höhepunkt des
Samstagsprogramms des STATE OF TIME Experience Science
Festivals bildet der STATE Club mit der von dem
Künstlerkollektiv PFADFINDEREI gestalteten Hauptbühne.</span></p>

will present their interpretation of the festival

main programme of STATE Experience Science Festival
takes place in the Alte Münze, a 1500m</span><span

abandoned former mint near Alexanderplatz, from
Friday, 10:00am until Saturday late. The focus:
interaction and reflection. Among our exhibiting
artists we include the work of Serbian artist, Nenad
Popov, whose approach combines and contrasts artistic
and scientific approaches. His work “Pulse, Flow” is
an installation on the microscopic inviting onlookers
to slow down. Visitors to our “Time Bureau” can find
out their “Time character” based on current
psychological research. Mindfulness meditation is
explored in a workshop using EEG sensors. A series of
informal talks from international scientists will
explore the science of time from many perspectives,
including insights into the power of the circadian
clock by chronobiologist Prof. Martha Merrow. Friday’s
STATE Forum programme stands for the meeting of art
and science at a professional level, featuring
discussion with local and international experts on the
opportunities and challenges of interdisciplinary
collaboration. Friday evening includes a performance
from pianist John Kameel Farah, supported by video
artists, of a series of compositions created in
collaboration with astrophysicists. The final
highlight of the STATE OF TIME Experience Science
Festival will be the STATE Club, Saturday night, where
the Pfadfinderei collective and others take center
stage.</span></p>
