September the 2<sup>nd</sup>
meeting took place at Art Laboratory Berlin at </span><span
lang="EN-US">7PM</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US"> </span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">Among the attendees
were Christian de Lutz
(Art Laboratory </span><span lang="EN-US">Berlin</span><span
lang="EN-US">), Erika Šiekštelytė (Panke e.V.), Gaia,
Bartolini (Liebich 12),
Desiree Foerster (free curator), Susanne Jaschko (free
curator- Prozessagenten),
Stefan Hoeppe, (free curator), Tatiana Bazzichelli
(transmediale /reSource) ,
Daniela Silvestrin (transmediale), Georgia Nicolau
(transmediale /reSource) and
3-4<span style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span>other guests.</span></div>

<div class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-weight: bold;"><span
lang="EN-US">1. The main topic of conversation was how
to build<span style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span>a
network of<span style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span></span><span
lang="EN-US">Berlin</span></span><span lang="EN-US"><span
style="font-weight: bold;"> spaces
dedicated to technology based arts</span> (new media*).</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:35.25pt"><span
lang="EN-US">*The term ‘new
media’ was questioned by some participants as it doesn’t
fit the diversity of
emerging forms (e.g. bio arts, environmental art, etc)
“technology based art”
seemed to fit as a temporary fill in . (Also suggested:
“21<sup>st</sup>
century arts”)</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:35.25pt"><span
lang="EN-US"> </span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-weight: bold;"><span
lang="EN-US">2. Possible goals of such a network include
raising the profile of “technology based arts” in the
large </span><span lang="EN-US">Berlin</span></span><span
lang="EN-US"><span style="font-weight: bold;"> art world</span>.
This will help individual spaces receive more attention
and gain more funding.
Also regular meetings will increase exchange of ideas and
information between
spaces and give life to possible synergies for common
projects, rhizomatic
exhibition structures or multi-space interactive events.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US"> </span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">3. One result could
be a<span style="font-weight: bold;"> common platform</span>
(such as a website) to inform the public of events in
“technology based arts”
happening in </span><span lang="EN-US">Berlin</span><span
lang="EN-US">. This site could also be linked to a common
<span style="font-style: italic;">QR/ barcode</span>
image, that
could be displayed at venues and across the city with a
link to the web
platform.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US"> </span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">Also the idea of a
series of ‘modds,’ one
in each space, was put forward. Visitors could ‘carry’ a
memory stick from
space to space with updated information, thus creating an<span
style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span>artwork common
between spaces which also
functions as an information portal (QR code and Modd were
the ideas of
Erika/Panke e.V.) </span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US"> </span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">4. It was decided
that <span style="font-weight: bold;">to agree on a
platform and set of goals, more spaces need to be
involved</span> (a minimum of 8 or 9
– three were present at the meeting). <br>

take place via the reSource mailing list, as well as a

further coordination of the project’s members, towards
the creation of an
independent common platform.</span></span></div>
